The International Organization for Healing the Children
April 29
The international Organization for Healing the Children, has planned a party on April 29, for the Pediatric oncology & hematology children & their families who are affiliated with St. Josephs Hospital, in Paterson, New Jersey. They have requested larvae, pupae, and butterflies. The plan is to have something for the children to look forward to during their treatments, as they watch the metamorphosis process.
Butterflies were donated by Melanie McCarthy of The Monarchy and Zane and Maggie Greathouse of Greathouse Butterfly Farm, Inc.
We received the following message after the event:
Good Morning ... There is no way I can explain what the butterflies meant to the moms ... there were tears, laughter, joy and blessings, as our precious butterflies touched each moms heart. Some flew right off (which made moms smile as they thought of their child with his little independent personality) some lingered a while and let the moms treasure their beauty and some landed on the mom and just stayed there for the longest time. They were soooo blessed. The weather was overcast and the sun hadn't come out at 11:00 a.m. when we released them but they seemed happy and I was so thankful not one of them didn't fly away.
Here is the little poem we all read together before we released them ....
Messenger of God, Oh, Little Butterfly, Messenger of God,
When I see you in the sky I cannot help but nod.
You bring me respite from grief and despair
Everytime I see you sailing through the air.
You renew my faith in all God's wondrous plan,
And I know it*s all in FAITH, not in what I understand.
*Oh, that I had wings like a dove; then I would fly away and rest!* Psalm 55: 6
Love and hugs .... Donna and all the moms who were BLESSED!!!

Alex's Lemonade Stand
Saturday 9th June 2007.
Alex's Lemonade Stand is a foundation for cancer research for children . It was begun five years ago by Alex Scott who had just finished her first stem cell transplant. She did not want a lemonade stand for the usual reasons of fun and money she wanted her stand for raising money for "her" hospital Ct. Children's Medical center and so all children's tumors could get better. Alex died on August 1, 2005 but not before raising million dollars for all children's cancer research. Children's cancers are the least funded of all cancers. My hope is that I might be able to get 5 dozen butterflies for this event.

Christmas Box Angel of Hope
September 15
The angel represents all children who have predeceased a parent in any way. There are many such angels across the country, this one will be #74. It is in Massachusetts. They requested 2 dozen butterflies.

John Bish Homecoming
September 19
John Bish, father of Molly Bish, suffered a major stroke on June 15, 2007. He also underwent heart surgery on August 22 to replace his damaged mitral valve.
John and Magi Bish have worked tirelessly - since their daughter was abducted and killed on June 27, 2000 - to educate parents and children about child safety. They formed the Molly Bish Foundation as a resource for the community. They have fought for tougher laws to protect us all against predators. They have provided over 160,000 free Molly Bish ID Kits with photos and fingerprints at thousands of events. They were involved in the passing of the Amber Alert, which has undoubtedly saved lives. They have traveled all over the country to promote child safety. Magi Bish founded "Missing Children's Day" in Massachusetts marked with a ceremony each year at the State House. They comfort other families of missing children. They are ambassadors for missing children.
They have helped countless people. And now they need our help.
Fran LeMasters of All a flutter graciously donated six of her pyramid boxes with pupae for John's homecoming. Fran's donation also included shipping expenses.

Celebration of Teacher Ms. Roberts' Life
On August 14, a sixth/seventh grade teacher collapsed in the classroom. She was rushed to the hospital where she passed away. The event has been traumatic for the school. They are planning a celebration of Ms. Roberts life on Friday, October 12, 2007, and would like to include releasing butterflies as part of the event. The celebration of life is to be held in Johnson City, Tennessee.
Butterflies were donated by Celeste Bursi (Butterflies in Memphis) & Melanie McCarthy (The Monarchy).
I wish to take this opportunity to publicly thank Celeste Bursi and Melanie McCarthy for their generous donations to our latest Wings of Hope event.
This afternoon I received a phone call from the principal of the school where the memorial service was held today for the teacher who collapsed & died in the schoolroom in August. She expressed gratitude for the generous donation of butterflies for this event, and mentioned she was moved by the letters which arrived from the donors with the butterflies.
As she described the emotions of the teachers’ mother when the butterflies circled her, it brought a tear to my eye, and all I can say is I am extremely honored and grateful to be a part of the Wings of Hope project. It feeds my soul.
Thank you Celeste & Melanie. Wings of Hope is only as successful as the generosity of people like you.
Mel, All your Monarchs arrived alive, thank you for holding them for so long…
And Celeste, the variety of butterflies created a beautiful flying bouquet when they were released.
Thank you and Thank you Again.
Many Blessings to all.
